Anyone know of any decent free low impact exercise videos

Between Covid and my back acting up, I've gained significant weight. Which is something I really can't afford. I got 2 each and next month I'll get some shirts. I only order off clearance. So we're talking about $50 for all. I am terrified winter will come and my biggest coat might not fit. But I literally am popping out of my biggest sweat pants. I need at least a few presentable clothes for doctor appointments, the store, etc.

I have amazon prime and netflix but finding something is confusing. Most are too hard for me to do. Anyone have experience with one you would recommend?

comments

So things are both up and down. I am still struggling financially. I am probably going to sell my nearly new car. I don’t drive a lot. And it will costs much less to take the available public transportation than buying gas and paying this state’s incredibly high cost of insurance. I can pay off the bills hanging over my head, and have plenty of emergency funds left. It will be an adjustment, but I am looking forward to not feeling like every last dollar is just not enough.

I’m going to a local venue to see Bret Michaels in concert. The $30 admit was paid months ago. That’s Saturday. I’m also breaking down and getting a hair cut. Been close to 2 years now. I probably should save the money, but it is starting to look like a curly rag mop although with the near complete loss of my own voice, it’s going to be an interesting outing Saturday.

So, fellow fans—ever dream about the stars you like? I can truly sat it’s not a normal occurrence for me. Until VERY Recently, I would have said I just plain don’t dream about tv/movie/etc stars.

I have a nasty summer cold right now, and for the first time I dreamt about a particular scruffy actor I admire. Twice in the last few days. I think the head full of yuck is somehow triggering the vivid dreams. I haven’t slept well, and finally crash around 4:30am. Upon waking around 7:30-8, I have really clear memories of the dreams. At least that’s a symptom I won’t complain about. ;-D

in my dream, he was the guy who’s concert I went to. Yet somehow I knew him as his character on Teen Wolf, so he was a werewolf, and I was in the know. After the concert I got to go hang out with him at his house, where he was having a party. I even remember taking advantage of his swimming pool:) it was pretty fun.

comments

So what's up with me.

The local library, which is about 2 blocks away is looking for a substitute. Basically fill in for sick/vacationing regular employees. I applied. It would be nice to make a few bucks now and then, yet wouldn't be regular enough to have to report it to the building management as regular income, which would raise my rent.

There's also the fact that I've always loved libraries. They're willing to train, so as long as they can accommodate my not always being able to stand (I've been there, they sit too) I think I can do it as long as I"m not working too consistantly. Then I'd have more trouble walking again.

I'm nervous about the possibility of an interview. I haven't worked since 2009, much less been on an interview.

Also, wish me luck on the hernia surgery on Monday. I basically blew a gasket coughing over the winter with a case of bronchitis, and it's been slowly getting worse. So repair time. My main worry is that at home my dogs will launch onto the tummy while I'm sitting. NOte to self: keep tummy covered with pillow while sitting!

My income and finally my rent have been fully figured by the state into my benefits. Next month will see me go from $15 in SNAP (food stamp) benefits to $147.00! This, getting approved for a free phone service, dropping some cable and switching my insurance co should see me finally beginning to get my head (a little) above water.

I ordered a bathing suit for water aerobics and hated it on, so returned it. Caught a good sale at SwimsuitsforAll.com, and got a different on. Much better! I know I'm heavy, but seriously, you can still find stuff that's not horrible and some even cute stuff. Alwaysforme.com is really great, but more expensive. My alternate will come from there next month I think. They are really well made for plus size women, big enough in tops, tummy control, full coverage top and bottom if you want, and even some cute 2 piece.

I'll be able to get in the water a mere 5 days after the surgery!

This July, my new home town, Muskegon, Michigan will be 150. One of the 3 day celebrations line ups is Bret Michaels and Warrant playing on the 13th. I managed to scrape up the $30.00 for it. Its right off Lake Muskegon, so it should be nice. Only about 1/2 mile away. I'll bring one of my camp chairs to sit as needed.

So that's the good the bad and the ugly for now. Hoping June will have enough money so Rocket can be neutered. Apparently, the MICHIGAN Spay Neuter Assistance Program )(nowhere on their website did I notice area restrictions) does not assist Muskegon County. So I got my required $25.00 back, and was referred to places that cost at least $90.00. So I really need to scrape the money June to make it. (that 2nd bathing suit may not happen as soon as I hope). But other than that, things are finally starting to look up a bit.

comments

A little under the weather, but nothing that won't pass soon enough. The boys are great. Rocket gives Scooter someone to play with a few times a day, and keeps me smiling at his antics. He is such a happy and gregarious guy. I want to soon start working more seriously on his (lack of ) obedience. He is completely oblivious to any verbal correction. It doesn't make him nervous or keep him from doing things he shouldn't. He may stop for a second, and he will let me take whatever he's chewing, but will be looking for the same sort of trouble again in no time .

I really thing his sweet nature, love of being pettted and held are good indications that he could make a great therapy dog in time. But l will have to wait for him to mature a bit. I'm pretty sure this month he will finally be neutered. I waited a bit longer than I meant to, but it turned out for the best. He had undescended testicles, and they seem to finally have dropped into place. I know otherwise the surgery is a little more complicated.

Here in Michigan, there is a program called SNAP (which funnily enough, is also the food stamp programs name) The Spay Neuter Assistance Program. It will only cost me $25 for his surgery. I need to submit the form, and then go one of the plalces that accepts the program, but once the money order is received, I'll get a voucher for the surgery since I qualify for the program. Then to keep him calm enough to recuperate should be fun.

My PCP finally got back to me (3 months later) to notify me that the pain clinic they normally refer to doesn't take my ins. Therefore, they want me to find a clinic that will. I have mixed feelings about that. I know the offices can be busy, but as an ex medical office worker who's job it was to obtain precerts, referrals, etc., I am disappointed with the office. All it takes is a phone call to the insurance to ask who is in network. Something I did hundreds of times for our patients.

Since it's been left up to me, I looked it up online through my insurance's website. Then looked up reviews and read over the whole 2 clinics in the area (both have mult. locations, but still, only 2 actual companies). Although the one has nothing really bad noted,, there's also a distinct lack of actual good reviews either. And they are definitely one of those places that seem to rely on "procedures" to treat pain and greatly shy away from any prescription medications.

The other office has a large number of good reviews. There technically physical medicine, not just pain management, and will prescribe if needed. I'v had so many injections, and none work long term. I am much more functional with at least a small dose of pain medicine to make my tolerance of activities more bearable. Physical therapy never actually improves my pain. But it does help me maintain range of motion , etc. So I am willing to do that work. I am hoping that once things even out with some sort of pain management, I'll be able to start at least some water exercises. And more able to keep up with daily housework. I always have to work when I can, then, I have to rest for days due to pain and fatigue.

In other news, I did finally get approved for some assistance. But it appears that they did not take my housing or medical into consideration. So I'm trying to get that straightened out. I'm only getting $15.00 in food assistance, and have a $900.00 deductible for medical before medicaid will kick in. Also, I need now to send in copies of the last few month's medical to get it counted and hopefully some reimbursed. MY insurance alone is almost $200.00 monthly. So I'm anxious for that to get back to me. Plus I just got notified my rent's going up another $35.00 starting in June. I really need this stuff straightened out quickly, or I'll wind up having to move somewhere less expensive. I don't pay "market rate" for my apartment, but it's still high for me. Once the medical and rent are worked into my assistance, it should even things out. With all the assistance I should be getting, the rent should be affordable. And it would be pretty hard to find such a great building and area to live in.

I am pretty sure though I am gonna have to take out loan. My car title is clear, so I can use it for collateral. I am behind in my phone, heat and electric right now. And my 2 store cards. All together maybe $2000 owed. But all separate payments are too much with the medical, etc. Plus I somehow forgot this month about my auto ins going through late in the month. Everything else is scheduled to deduct when my Social Security is deposited. But I forgot. So overspent a little. Then when the auto withdrawal tried to go through, I was a few dollars short. Well because they go through as auto and rental insurance and separate bills even though it's the same company, I got 2 different service charges for nsf. The auto withdrawal keeps trying to go through, and each time it happens, I get $68.00 service fees. Which currently puts me at about $350.00 overdrawn. Which means no way to pay anything besides rent this month. Including food. Once I can get approved for a loan, I intend to pay off the phone and transfer service to a state phone (free service to low income people.) Now I've qualified for the assistance, I can contact the heat and electric companies for low income assistance too. But I'm sure I'll need to pay those off too. (about 100-150) what's left of the loan will pay the credit cards, and catch up the insurance and cover food this month. I plan on asking for a little more than that so I have a little emergency money. It seems ridiculous to take a loan for such a small amount of bills, but I don't know what else to do.

I'm hoping that sending in the medical insurance bills to medicaid once the amounts are adjusted for the housing and medical will then give me most of the loan back. So I can repay the majority quickly. But all that only happens as fast or as slow as the government does with it.

comments

Actually, my first day at the hotel, I went on the bus tour with Rob Benedict. OMG, he is incredibly sweet. Totally down to earth, never felt like I was around a "star". He's pretty funny too. We mostly drove around Chicago while he spoke about his college years in Chi=town. We stopped at the "bean' a giant kidney shaped mirrored sculpture. Kinda neat. Hard to find where you are reflected on it once you're underneath. We also stopped at this bizzare fountain which shows peoples faces, and then they periodically spit out water. It was cool, and cooled us all off too. But kinda weird too. I'm not sure what kind of statement it's making with the faces and the water spewing out of the mouths. We had lunch at an italian place both pizza and pasta and salad and desert! Waddled out of there!! There was also a stop at the infamous "shit fountain". Aparently someone had heard of it, and once Rob heard of it he couldn't believe it (yep, only in chicago), someone googled the address and it wasn't far away, so we stopped there too. Rob had a facebook account set up which I guess he posted to and also twitter. He decided to put it to a group vote and that's how we stopped there . He had everyone posting #shitfountain with no explaination. I don't have either, so don't know how all those pics turned out. Here's mine from the Shedd Aquarium (we only went as far as the gift shop) and Shit Fountain.

Some of the Sculptures outsiide. I was having trouble keeping up so I never did get the penguin. It is the most angry or evil penguin i have ever seen!

Rob, as you can see had no problem hamming it up at the fountain, it really does look gross, it is in the front of an apt building and right next to an entry. Not what I'd want at my door, even it the artist is supposed to be famous. A young lady was going in, and said we're now the largest tourist group to visit, and yes, lots come to see it.

Over and out for tonight. Actually morning now. Had a hell of a time trying to remember how to post pics. I'll finish off the pics in the next day or two I hope

comments

Louden Swain is the band at all their cons. Rob Benedic (God/Chuck) t is the singer. Most everyone else pops in and out as guests too, though.

They did a little mini concert in the vendors area. I was in the right place at the right time. I was right in front. But I did sit down, along with most everyone else (on the ground). Not my best choice, once down for the half hour or so, I could not for the life of me get back off the floor. Thankfully, the guys were gone and some nice young ladies helped me up, so it wasn't as embarrassing as it could be.

Here's Richard Jamming with them on the concert night

At this point, just about everyone was on stage and either singing or playing and dancing.

comments

My life has been quite busy this last 6-8 weeks. I have made the move to Michigan, and really love my new apartment. Some expenses are more than I expected, but once I manage to get everything straight with Medicare, Medicaid, and get on the local food stamp and utility help, it should be ok, even though I'll need to watch my expenses.

I went to the Supernatural Con in Chicago, and had a wonderful time, even if I returned home incredibly exhausted. Scooter came with, and I begain to feel like he was the unofficial mascot. I walked him frequently, and he went to the vendors area a lot. He even quietly sat in a panel or two. Misha was game enough to include him in my photo op, since I had to bring Scooter with in line because of timing issues. Jared and Jensen both asked about him and thought he was cute during autographs. Rob was awesome on the bus tour and I seemed to run into him frequently. He's a really nice, down to earth guy. I'll post pics later.

Once back in Michigan, I'began setting up house. I''ve got enough furniture now to be comfortable and have guests. My current "sofa" is a daybed with a trundle. twin sized. so technically two people can sleep over if need be. I spent the extra money there on good mattresses, knowing that some days I may crash on it myself. Worth the investment! I seem to sleep half and half in the bedroom and on the daybed. both are very comfy. I found a pair of wing back chairs that are in nice shape and pretty comfortable for $100. They''re in nearly new condition and Im happy with them. Bought inexpensinve area rugs off overstock, and they lmake the rooms feel more completed. and tied to gether. I think the biggest expense other than the mattresses has been getting my kitchen stocked. Everything as far as food has to be bought. Flour, sugar, spices, canned goods, meat, and on and on. I think I'm finally to a place where I''ll only need to replenish what I use and more normal type of shopping there now. The same was for cleaning goods. One splurge there was this stationary vacuum I've got mostly upscale vinyl flooring, so I sweep or use a microfiber Swiffer type mop to pick up dust and clean with. I found a nice soft bristled broom that kind of looks like and old fashioned push broom but is very light. I do I quick sweep every few days push it up to the intake on the vacuum, and it sucks up all the debris. no bending over to try and get it into a dustpan. Every now and then, you dump out the cannister that hold to dust, etc. For me this combo is the best thing since sliced bread! The broom is light enough for me, and the handle long enough that I don't have to bend much at all in order to sweep. (Same with my wet/dry mop) Then the vacuum takes care of the pickup. Once I am done sweeping, I run the broom bristles across the intake and the broom is cleaned off too. Awesome!

I still need a desk, and want to find some sort of stand for my tv. That way I can repurpose my nice chest back to an entryway chest. I'll eventually find something used. I have some Ideas of how I want it to look. I want to paint it so I am not worried about the current color, just a style I like and for it to be in sturdy condition.

In final news, although Scooter is adjusting well to the new apartment, his anxiety when I have to leave him home is actually increasing. This finalized my thoughts on finding a buddy for him (and me). I've inquired into a few Pomeranians in rescue, and have been unable to find a match that I can adopt. I really want another pom. I sure miss my others. If my apartment allowed larger dogs Iwould also consider an aussie or aussie mix, but they get too big. I expanded my search to reputable breeders for either a retiring adult or a pet pup that my work well with me. I found a male who is currently 3 months old, and not so far away. The woman feels he would be a good fit for scooter and I. He will not be a teeny tiny. Probably 6-8 pounds. His current name is ""Umar" he is a chocolate merle, and looks like he'll grow up to be quite the beauty. I'll be getting him in Mid September. I''ve already located a local low cost clinic which is also highly rated for his care, neuter, etc. And am going to set up a few one on one sessions with a trainer and me to help give me ideas on how best to work with a pup since I use a cane now and am not as quick as I used to be. I am quite lucky, there are nearby dog training clubs, and very close dog park, and a close by dog beach. Again, will post pics later today or tomorrow. It is hard to believe my life has turned around so much. I may even have my older half brother moving out here too. I've made a few new friends/aquaintences. already. And am working on reconnecting with older ones. I am happy!

comments

I have made the move to Michigan and amazingly, have managed to open all boxes. Even though they did not arrive until Sunday. The movers were done mid-afternoon. I have relocated some things to the 2nd bedroom, or the closet of the 2nd bedroom. I have nearly no furniture, and that includes no desk. so my "office" is mostly boxes of supplies on the floor of that room. all pictures, nik naks, etc are in that closet, as there's nothing to put them on.

I am leaving today for the SPNCON in Chicago. I am leaving my living room full of empty boxes. I have to break them down to throw them out, and I have no razor knife. I opened everything with my scizzors. I'll buy some sort of razor knife to bring back home. My hands can't handle cutting through all the boxes with scizzors. It was hard enough to just cut through all the tape on th eboxes!

Scooter is coming with me. I feel bad about the first day, as the bus tour is a long stretch with no one to check on him. The rest, though, I'll be able to pop up to my room and check on him and walk him.

So far I really love my apartment, and the area. Later I'll have to post some pics. I must now go pack again!

comments
